New model agency launches out of lockdown
With Covid having forced us all to reassess how we work in order to have the greatest, positive impact in all we do, it feels the right moment to launch Ad Lucem.
Having founded and worked at agencies for the last 15 years both our and our clients’ experience suggested that the traditional agency model, if it isn’t broken, can be expensive and unnecessarily unwieldy at best. This means that, too often, clients don’t get the quality, expertise AND value that they deserve and, instead, pay ridiculous agency overheads for mediocre to good outputs, after the executive team disappear into the ether as soon as the beauty parade is over.
There are so many issues the financial services industry faces at the macro and micro level. Not only does the industry need to work out how to navigate the ongoing pandemic, climate change and a complete reordering of the workplace but it also needs to tackle complex issues such as vulnerability, inequality and how to build far greater financial awareness and planning across generations of savers and investors.
In response to both this and the wider challenges Covid-19 has thrown up, the Ad Lucem model has been built around the concept of value at every touch point. We hate ‘good’ and detest ‘mediocre’. We are a tightly unified collective of highly experienced and super talented folk, coming together under a brand that stands for impeccable quality; exquisitely delivered. It’s our non-negotiable. We have very intentionally set up with the minimal structure and bureaucracy. We don’t have an office because we don’t need one and don’t see why clients should have to pay for it. And that’s what effectively happens when you spend money on looking impressive rather than delivering impressively. The lockdown experience has finally given us permission to do away with much of the agency pomp and circumstance, freeing us to deliver obscene levels of quality without all the expensive overheads. We’ve stripped out everything that doesn’t directly serve our clients, leaving us with just what is required to deliver outstanding results without any waste.
And so, from a socially distant but creatively close spark, the Ad Lucem Collective is born.
